Two art exhibitions are hosting receptions in the Village of Cobden, Illinois on May 4, Saturday, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.: “come play with me,” Paulette Aronson and Friends at anthill gallery & vintage curiosities and Digital Photography Painting by Tom Bell at Luna Gallery in The Yellow Moon Cafe.
Two highly-acclaimed Southern Illinois artists, Paulette Aronson, Cobden and Tom Bell, Makanda, are exhibiting their award-winning artwork in two Cobden, Illinois locations. “Paulette Aronson and Friends” at anthill gallery, 102 N. Front Street and Tom Bell’s Digital Photography Painting at the Luna Gallery in The Yellow Moon Cafe, 110 N. Front Street.
Enticed and enchanted by color and small details, Aronson constantly is exploring the lure of multiple dimensions and new possibilities in making art.
“Melding the traditional to the non-traditional is a form of upcycling and repurposing.” Paulette Aronson also says that she is inspired by nature and the “humor found in the inconsistencies of life”.
Her award-winning artwork has been exhibited at local, state and national levels. Paulette invites you to, “come play with me, and be delighted.”
Artwork by attendees of classes Paulette led at anthill gallery are included in the exhibition at anthill through June 2.
Exhibition hours at anthill gallery, 102 North Front Street, Cobden are Sunday and Wednesday, noon to 4 p.m.; Thursday and Friday, noon to 6 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
At the Luna Gallery in The Yellow Moon Cafe, Tom Bell's Digital Photography Painting is highly representational of his "Photo Shop Guru" status. An international award-winning fine art photographer, Bell became involved with digital imaging in the early 1990s and has received international aclaim for his digital paintings. The Yellow Moon Cafe is open 10 a.m. to 2 pm Wednesday through Friday, reopening Friday at 6 pm and open Saturday all day.
