A new series of Free Art Workshops will now be offered by Little Egypt Arts Association (LEAA), which has been awarded a $1000 FY13 Community Arts Access Grant via the Southern Arts Fund, a program of Carbondale Community Arts.
The Grant Project is a series of Art Workshops to be offered at no cost to pre-registered students on Saturdays during the summer months at the Little Egypt Art Center in Marion.
The principal goal of the project is to bring an array of arts activities for local citizens who wish to try their hand at using art materials. Each workshop will offer a different medium and technique for creative expression. Students will complete one take home project.
For information about the May 11 Accordian Book Workshop taught by Marie Samuel from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. call 889-4145. This free workshop has many provided materials.

Some painting techniques and mixed media processes will be explored on the six panels as well as other ways to make books will be displayed.
