“NATURE: Hard & Soft” is a limited-time exhibition of art by Roberta Elliott
and Karen Linduska during The Stage Company’s production of THE 39 STEPS,
opening at Carbondale’s Varsity Center for the Arts on Friday, December 6.
Presented in the VCA gallery, this exhibition creates a juxtaposition of hard and soft elements, contrasting Roberta Elliott’s cool and sculptural mild steel with Karen Linduska’s intricate
and warm fabric quilts.
These nationally-known local artists collaborate in this exhibition curated by anthill gallery & vintage curiosities. Fifteen per cent of anthill gallery’s commission on all artwork sold from “Nature: Hard & Soft” will be donated to The Stage Company of Carbondale.
THE 39 STEPS opens December 6th. On Saturday, December 7th, the performance will begin at 8:30 p.m. to allow the traffic from the Lights Fantastic Parade to clear.
On Saturday, December 7, The Stage Company will open the lobby early so parade goers can use the theater as place to get warm and have a cup of hot chocolate. Once the parade passes, the VCA gallery will be open for those who are staying for the production.
