anthill gallery presents the work of two highly-acclaimed Southern Illinois artists for the beginning of its 2013 Artist Exhibition Series.
Paulette Aronson, Cobden and Tom Bell, Makanda will exhibit their award-winning artwork in two Cobden, Illinois locations beginning in April.
“Paulette Aronson and Friends” will commence the 2013 season at anthill gallery, while Tom Bell’s digital photography painting will be showcased
at the Luna Gallery in the Yellow Moon Cafe.
As a child, Paulette Aronson was art maker, colorist, cutter and gluer - a “constructor” who learned to use cast-offs from the world around her to create.
Enticed and enchanted by color and small details, she was unable to resist the lure of exploring multiple dimensions.
“Melding the traditional to the non-traditional is a form of upcycling and repurposing.” Paulette says that she is inspired by nature
and the “humor found in the inconsistencies of life”.
Paulette earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Southern Illinois University plus additional hours in drawing, painting, and printmaking.
Her award-winning artwork has been been exhibited at local, state and national levels. Paulette invites you to, “come play with me, and be delighted by small things.”
Students from classes Paulette led at anthill gallery were also invited as friends to share in the exhibition at anthill through June 2.
An artist reception for“come play with me,” will be held Saturday, May 4, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Exhibition hours at anthill gallery, 102 North Front Street, Cobden are Sunday and Wednesday, noon to 4 p.m.;
